Start with great expectations

2010 Taiho Jutsu seminars started in Stratford Upon Avon this February, quickly followed by the second of the year at Leicester police head quarters. Great numbers of Taiho students spanning from as far a field as Exeter came to join in the training of this self defence system headed by Brian Eustace Sensei 9th Dan.

During the training Sensei demonstrated a range of techniques incorporating all elements of self defence including distance awareness and control. Students spent a gruelling four hours learning locks and holds with a large section of the afternoon  dedicated to close in judo work practiced in static form and free play.

While the training was conducted Sensei assessed the student’s progress and invited players to demonstrate their skills to progress to the next grade in their training.

The grading consisted of demonstrating various techniques depending on the player’s grade in front of the grading panel.

Coventry put forward five students for consideration with great results, all students were successful.

Resulting in yellow belt passes for.
Jennifer Allen.

Orange belt passes for.
Martin Olner and Regan Blount  Robert deans  and Marco Roberts

Blue belt success for Coventry’s Uki,

Ruth Stronach, who deserves a very well done for unknowingly taking a Brown belt grading demonstrating great judo free play in a display of techniques ranging above the required standard.

Well done to all the above and Coventry look forward to holding our first seminar very soon.
